New Year Open Letter to Cat and Dog Owners From Their Pets

Dear Mom and Dad,

With every new year, we notice many changes in our home. Every January, all you humans try to commit to your New Year’s resolutions, and that is a great effort. However, do you ever consider us when you are making all these life changes and improvements? To make things easy to understand where we are coming from, we’ve whittled down a list of resolutions we’d like you to consider into three easy topics: Fitness, Treats, and Fun.

Fitness

So that new gym membership you invested in is great. It is essential to take care of our bodies and prioritize fitness. How about dedicating some additional time to your day to make sure we are getting our proper exercise as well? We also need to keep our figures trim and healthy. More walking and less scrolling could do all of us some good in the new year, but we are up for anything physical.

Treats

We see the dedication you have to keeping your human bellies happy and healthy. Fancy smoothie drinks, meal prepping, or just grabbing a snack or treat without having to beg for it, is something we are a bit jealous of. A little more focus on our treats and meals would be a great way to start the year. Just yesterday, our breakfast was served at 7:02, and you know we eat at 7:00. If you can find the time to get to that gym class or work on time, then committing to prompt meals and timely snacks would really show us you care in the coming year. Just sayin’.

Fun

Lots of things can fall into this category, so feel free to get creative. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and taking us on many more adventures would do us all a world of good. Instead of binging another series on the light box, play laser tag, or fetch with us more. We could literally do it for hours, and with more playtime, we’ll all nap better too.

This is the year when you should take our health as seriously as you take yours. If you need help remembering how much exercise and fun we have had, then keep tabs on us with a pet GPS location and activity tracker. There will be no excuses when everything is right there at your fingertips. Furthermore, a GPS tracker will keep us safer, healthier, and happier. While we may try to make our New Year’s resolution not to escape this year, we can’t make any guarantees, but having a back-up plan with a tracker is comforting.
