As a general guide, you should be able to comfortably fit two fingers between your pet’s collar and their neck. For harnesses, always follow the manufacturer’s fitting guidance.

Don’t just check the equipment. Look for redness, sore areas, bald or thinning patches in their fur, swelling or signs of discomfort around where their equipment sits. If you’re concerned about persistent irritation or damaged skin, speak to your vet.
