Today is Dog Walkers Appreciation Day and here at Pawfit, we love dog walkers and want to say a big thank you for everything they do.
Daily walks for our four-legged friends are so important but fitting them in to a hectic schedule can sometimes be a bit of a nightmare! That’s why many owners rely on dog walkers and walking services as a way to ensure their pups are getting enough steps in and reaching their daily activity goals.
There are so many benefits to using a dog walking service, most importantly ensuring that your dog is getting both the physical and mental stimulation they need every day.
Just like humans, some dogs can go a little crazy when they’re cooped up in doors all day by themselves. Your dog walker can work around your schedule, walking your pup once or twice a day as many times a week as needed.
This means they’re less likely to become bored and destructive whilst you’re out at work and you’ll come home to calm and content dog.
Dog walkers are able to take our dogs on long, interesting walks that we sometimes just don’t have the time for. They also offer the option of going on group walks, meaning your pooch can interact with other dogs, make some new friends, and improve their social skills.
Whilst there are so many obvious benefits to using a dog walker and walking service, there’s one question that keeps coming up. How can owners and walkers ensure dogs are getting enough exercise whilst they’re out?
Thankfully, Pawfit has a simple solution…
For Dog Owners
If you have a Pawfit for your dog, your dog walker can download the Pawfit app and become a member of your dog’s Family Care. This will give them access to a whole load of Pawfit features including seeing your dog’s live and past locations and tracking your pet’s activity.
When your dog wears their Pawfit tracker whilst they’re out with the dog walker, you’ll have the option to follow their walk live or see a full report post walk in the Pawfit app of exactly where your pup has been, and what they got up to. You can also see how each walk contributes to achieving their daily activity goals and get a better idea of how long a walk they’ll need in the evening.
For Dog Walkers
Did you know Pawfit is also an excellent business tool for dog walkers? In fact, we designed many Pawfit features specifically with dog walkers in mind.
The thought of leaving your dog with a stranger for the first time can be nerve wracking, especially for relatively new pawrents. With Pawfit, Dog Walkers can give their customers peace of mind that their dog is enjoying their walk and getting all the exercise they need.
Dog walkers can use their own Pawfit device on the dogs they’re walking and invite the owners to follow their dog’s walk live or send them a post walk report once their pooch is back home snoozing, all via the Pawfit app. The ability to send detailed reports to customers is a service that helps set Pawfit dog walkers apart from the pack.
Best of all, walkers don’t need to have an individual Pawfit for each dog they walk. The Pawfit tracking device can easily be attached/removed from each dog’s collar or harness at the start and end of each walk. When a new walk is started with each dog, you can invite their owner to follow the walk live or send a post walk report with the touch of button.
Owners can see exactly where their dog has been, and the post walk report can give them a real insight into what their dogs get up to whilst they’re busy at work.
