Possibly one of the best days of the year, Pancake Day is here again!
With pancakes on the menu for dinner, it’s a shame for our four legged friends to miss out on the fun too!
Here’s a super easy recipe and some tasty topping suggestions to create dog friendly pancakes that your pup will flipping love!
Dog friendly pancake recipe and method
Ingredients:
- 50g plain flour
- 1 egg
- 100ml water
Method:
- Whisk ingredients together in a bowl until you have a smooth, lump free batter
- Heat a non-stick frying pan on a medium heat
- Ladle a small amount of mixture into the pan
- Allow to cool, add toppings and serve!
Topping suggesstions
Now for the best part, the toppings! This is where you can get really inventive and choose something your dog will really love. Here’s a few tasty sweet and savoury pancake topping suggestions, all approved by the Pawfit office pups!
- Peanut butter (we love this one by Nuts for Pets)
- Banana slices
- Blueberries
- Crumbled up dog biscuits/treats
- Chopped carrots
- Strawberry slices
Please remember to reduce your dog’s usual daily food portion to prevent over feeding them
